The Fondation du Musée du Fjord was created to set up a trust fund and thus
contribute to the Musée du Fjord’s upkeep. Remember that the Museum’s mission
is to preserve and showcase the historical, natural and artistic heritage of the
Saguenay Fjord and Ha! Ha! Bay territory, to make them known, and to make
the public aware of their importance.
The Foundation is charged with developing and managing the Musée du Fjord’s
membership. It organises complementary activities, such as fund-raising evenings,
commemorative events and meetings with partners drawn from the milieu, so as
to make the Musée du Fjord better known and to get people from near and far
interested in it. Revenues derived from its activities are meant to carry out the
Museum’s objectives. The Foundation’s administrators are volunteers who have
taken the Musée du Fjord’s development and public awareness to heart.
They provide moral and financial support and know-how, and help spread
a community spirit. Front-line partners, ardent defenders of the Museum,
they spur those around them to support our ideal and encourage contributions
from new benefactors.
