De BALSAC à CopaQ : Connect with Our Shared Story!
Are you a genealogy enthusiast? Do you love history? Are you passionate about genetics? Or maybe you’re just curious! Either way, this CopaQ space is for you!
Cohorte Participative du Québec (CopaQ) is a project combining genealogical and genetic data from Quebec for scientific research. Created at the Université du Québec à Chicoutimi (UQAC), CopaQ is a participatory science platform, meaning it involves citizens directly in its development.
CopaQ continues the work of BALSAC, a population database with more than 50 years of history. This brief exhibition takes you through the evolution of population studies in the Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean region and Quebec, from BALSAC’s beginnings in the 1970s to the creation of the cutting-edge CopaQ platform. Discover and connect with our shared history, both genealogically and genetically!
