School Groups

Our educational team offers a host of activities to discover the Museum's collections and exhibitions in a different way. We promote, through a lively approach, a visit that is both enriching and adapted to the needs of teachers, but above all, of students. Our educational objectives and those of schools are complementary. They are not only aimed at the acquisition of concepts directly related to the programs. We want to show that a visit to the Musée du Fjord contributes to arousing the curiosity of young people for science as well as for regional and natural heritage. At the Musée du Fjord, you learn while having fun!

Because we are located near various sites, which offer an array of activities, you just need to cross the street to enjoy commented tours at theTouverre Economuseum glassworks. You can also admire the view from the top of the Ha! Ha! Pyramid.

Pyramide des Ha! Ha!

Built to commemorate the 1996 floods, the Pyramides des Ha! Ha! is covered with 3,000 “yield” signs, which are bolted to an aluminum structure. The pyramid offers a breathtaking view of the La Baie des Ha! Ha! from its 21-meter-high observation deck, an exhibition about the Saguenay Flood of 1996 and a memorial park.

Économusée Touverre

Glassmakers create a wide variety of products using a series of techniques like handling, colouring and baking. They’ve refined their craft to design and create works that can be used in architecture, custom trophies, sculptures and even worn as jewelry.

Activities for cruise passengers

Cruise ships stopping over at La Baie has led Musée du Fjord to offer a program that was specially designed for cruise ship passengers. Special activities, customized for cruise ship passengers, are offered to vacation organizers and travel agencies. The Museum has consequently completed an ambitious repositioning project of its cultural and tourist destination. Its goal is to provide the Saguenay‒Lac-St-Jean region with a world-class tourist attraction, which meets the high standards of an international clientele.

It is within this context that the multilingual 3D show Journey into the Heart of the Saguenay Fjord was specially created for the Musée du Fjord. This immersive experience introduces the majestic Saguenay Fjord and allows each participant to choose between 5 languages, to better comprehend the scientific facts discussed throughout the show. The languages offered are German, English, Spanish, French, and Italian.

Packages including a visit of the Museum are offered by Promotion Saguenay and other cruise companies. Ask about them aboard your ship!
